I am working in a private hospital, Can I become a member?

Yes, workers of a private hospital can also become our member.

I am working on contract basis in a Hospital/Pathlab/Dispensary, can I become a member?

Yes, contract workers are also eligible for membership of our union.

I am working through a contractor, do I have any labour rights?

Even workers working through contractors are eligible for many statutory benefits like gratuity, bonus, PF etc.

What is the process for obtaining membership?

Visit our office at 8, School Lane, Bengali Market, New Delhi with you ID Card and fill up the membership form.

What is the membership fees?

At present it is Rs. 120/- per year.

Can my employer take action against me for joining a trade union?

As per the Constitution of India, every citizen of India has a fundamental right to form and join a union of his choice. The Industrial Disputes Act prohibits an employer from victimizing a worker for joining trade union.

Hospital Employees’ Union is a registered trade union of health workers. The Union was registered in 1961 under the Trade Unions Act, 1926. The Union consists of health workers working in hospitals, clinics, dispensaries, nursing homes, maternity and child welfare Centre etc.
